What is CaribSecure Business Suite?

CaribSecure Business Suite is a planned family of secure, affordable, and locally relevant software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses in Jamaica and the wider English-speaking Caribbean.

The planned product family includes:

• CaribCare Medical Centre Manager
• CaribPay HR & Payroll Manager
• CaribLex Law Office Manager
• CaribFix Repair Shop Manager

What is Phase 1 focused on?

Phase 1 is focused on two priority products:

1. CaribScript Pharmacy Manager
2. CaribLex Law Office Manager

These two products were selected because pharmacies and law offices both handle sensitive information and require reliable, secure, and well-organised software systems.

Is development already underway?

Yes. Development is already underway. The purpose of the Phase 1 campaign is to help move the prototypes closer to completion and support the completion of early working prototypes.

What is the Phase 1 funding target?

The Phase 1 funding target is USD2,000 over a planned 90-day campaign period.

What will the funds be used for?

Funds raised during Phase 1 will support:

• One development computer
• Initial software security auditing
• Testing and backup support
• Development environment improvements
• Continued prototype completion work

Is this demo site using real data?

No. This is a demo environment only. No real pharmacy, patient, legal, client, payroll, customer, repair-service, billing, or personal data is used on this site.

Any future demo data should be sample data created only for demonstration and testing.

Why are Pharmacy and Law Office software being developed first?

Pharmacies and law offices were selected first because they handle sensitive and confidential information and are among the sectors where secure, affordable, and well-organised software can provide immediate practical value.

Will the other products be developed?

Yes. CaribCare Medical Centre Manager, CaribPay HR & Payroll Manager, and CaribFix Repair Shop Manager are part of the wider development plan.

They are currently listed as coming-soon products while Phase 1 focuses on CaribScript and CaribLex.

Will the software be free?

The long-term intention is to provide cost-effective software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.

Final licensing, pricing, and support models will be developed as the products move closer to release.

Will the software be cloud-based or locally installed?

The initial focus will be on local installation only. This is because cloud-based software that handles personal data for certain professions and sectors may not yet be approved, accepted, or legally suitable for use in many Caribbean territories.

However, the software is being designed so that cloud-based availability may be possible in the future, where and when permitted by law and appropriate data-protection requirements.

How will security be handled?

Security is being considered from the early development stage. Phase 1 funding includes support for initial software security auditing.

The project also includes a long-term plan for digital certification and code signing to help reduce the risk of tampering when the software is distributed.

How can someone support the project?
